As a representative of high-end sweetener, neotame has attracted the attention of global food industry. With more than fifteen years’ experience in promotion and application of neotame, combined with the trend of the market, in 2013, Wuhan HuaSweet Co., Ltd submitted to the State Intellectual Property Office of three patents named "A compound sweetener contains neotame which can be used in betel nut food", "A compound sweetener contains neotame which can be used in solid beverage" and "A compound sweetener contains neotame which can be used in feed".

Under the leadership of professor Xie Xinchun, general manager of the company, after two years of continuous experiments, cautious verification and rigorous analysis carried out by the technical team of Wuhan HuaSweet, finally in 2015, Wuhan HuaSweet Co., Ltd successfully obtained three application and invention patents for neotame. It is the only enterprise in China who has application and invention patents for neotame. It has guiding significance in the application of neotame in global market, promoting the development of the whole sweeteners industry .
